Microbials and Contaminants

MICROBIAL IMPURITY AND VIRUS TESTING SOLUTIONS

Comprehensive analysis for microbiological contaminants

Quantitative analysis via state-of-the-art fluorescence detection ensures the most accurate count of Total Yeast and Mold. Qualitative analysis is performed by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and agar confirmation so that only viable Aspergillus, STEC, or Salmonella cells are reported.

Various testing options are available to not only target microorganisms required by state compliance rules, but also identify environmental or viral problems that contribute to failing samples or stunted harvests.

Terpenes Testing

Why is microbiological contaminant and pathogen testing important?

The same conditions that are ideal for cultivation can also be ideal for the proliferation of microorganisms, bacteria, and pathogens.

Microbiological contaminants can easily establish a foothold at any stage of the production process, leading to substantial loss of product and costly remediation.

Viruses such as Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd) can significantly diminish the quality and yield of cannabis/hemp.

Microbiological Contaminant Analysis

Analysis is conducted either by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and fluorescence detection of microbiological contaminants or by plating using 3M™ Petrifilm™ and plate counts of microbiological contaminants.

Various bundled panel options were developed to target a comprehensive list of organisms, address state compliance rules, and meet guidelines established by the USP, AHPA, AHP, DCC, or ORELAP.

Rush options are unavailable for these selections, as one or more organisms included use a plating test method which requires specific incubation times.
